mweqHexham è una cittadina inglese di mweg13 097 abitanti nel mwewNorthumberland. Il centro abitato è sulle riva sud del fiume mwfaTyne, a ovest di mwfqNewcastle upon Tyne.

Il centro urbano sorse intorno al mwfwmonastero fondato nel mwga674 da san mwgqVilfrido di York (nei sotterranei sono stati anche rinvenuti resti mwggromani). Nei pressi del confine con la mwgwScozia, nel corso dei secoli subì numerosi attacchi da parte dei vicini: venne incendiata dalle truppe di mwhaWilliam Wallace nel mwhq1297 e di nuovo minacciata da Roberto I Bruce nel mwhw1312.

Sede vescovile mwiqcattolica della mwigdiocesi di Hexham e Newcastle, oggi è soprattutto un attivo mercato per i prodotti della regione.
